About This Image

The number "241" is reversed out of the negative at the top right in Le Gray's hand. A very rare (perhaps unique) and important untrimmed print from Le Gray's summer 1851 expedition for the Mission Heliographique. Very few are in private hands. Most such prints are in institutions.

This image is not listed at the Médiathèque de l'architecture et du patrimoine, Paris.

Provenance: from Le Gray; to Le Secq to Family of the photographer, Henry Le Secq.
