Austrian Rudolf Lehnert, and his friend, Ernest Landrock, a German, were on grand tour in Africa when they decided to open a photographic studio in Tunis in 1904. In 1919, they founded the Kunst Verlag in Leipzig and, in 1924, opened a studio in Cairo. Photographer's unique stamp on lower left of image.
