About This Image

Titled, and with the photographer's 'Hog Lane, Hammersmith' and 'Elm Grove, Barnes' addressed on verso. John Staples was a member of the Hammersmith Photographic Society, which was disbanded in 1934. His image 'A Debatable Point' was published in the Pictorial Work of the Royal Photographic Society, 1927, pl. xxxviii. He was a Fellow of the RPS, and this print came from the estate of Arthur G. Dell, ARPS.
