The show will kick off with a reception hosted by actor Matt Dillon and actor/producer Fisher Stevens on Thursday, October 14 from 6 to 9 p.m. to benefit the Jewish Museum in New York City, in honor of its centennial. Widely admired for its exhibitions and educational programs that inspire people of all backgrounds, the Jewish Museum is the preeminent United States institution exploring the intersection of 4,000 years of art and Jewish culture. Guests will enjoy all the wonderful works of art on display as well as a hosted cocktail reception.

Tickets to the reception are $75 and are available for purchase at the door or in advance by calling 1-212-423-3267. In addition, in celebration of the Jewish Museum's centennial and introduction of Photo New York 2004, noted photographer and Guggenheim recipient Elinor Carucci has donated prints in an edition of 50 that can be purchased from the Museum for $500 (entry to reception for two included in fee). Proceeds from the opening reception will benefit the Museum's Photography Acquisitions Fund.

"The Jewish Museum's photography collection currently contains 1,200 prints of artistic significance that illuminate the diversity of the Jewish cultural experience. The Museum is actively building a unique photography collection that ranges from mid 19th-century to cutting edge contemporary works. We are extremely pleased that the opening night of Photo New York 2004 will support our efforts to acquire additional works of photography that strengthen this collection," said Ruth Beesch, Deputy Director for Program, the Jewish Museum.
