New Assistant Director Joins Vintage Works, Ltd.

Marthe Smith has joined my company Vintage Works, Ltd. as our new Assistant Director.

In the photography world, she was most recently Director of Life Gallery of Photography in New York City for Time Warner. She initiated and worked in this position from 1984-1988 and then again from 1990-2002.

Smith acted as curator for over 35 photography exhibits installed in Time Warner exhibition spaces around the world on a range of topics from popular themes, such as, Pets, Children and Baseball, to retrospectives on the photographers Alfred Eisenstaedt, Carl Mydans and Gjon Mili--among others, and critical views of elements in photographs as in the exhibit, "Coke, the Surreal Thing".

She also acted as Photography Editor of the book, "Eyewitness: 150 Years of Photojournalism, People & Private Lives", which was published by Oxmoor House.

Smith was the Co-Producer of "W. Eugene Smith: Photography Made Difficult", which was an Emmy-award-winning 90-minute feature film documentary for the American Masters series on PBS public television.
