Photographed atop the Grant building, a man is watching the construction of 525 William Penn Place. Built in the early 1950's, 525 William Penn Place was Pittsburgh's first postwar skyscraper. The building, constructed by U.S. Steel, has been occupied by the Mellon National Bank and Trust Company since its completion.
