This is simply a great image and a marvelous dag. "W. & F. Langenheim, Philada" embossed in the cover velvet. I broke the original seals, which are present in the back of the case, to reseal in new glass. I am convinced that the Langenheims must rank among the finest portrait daguerreotypists, along with Southworth and Hawes; and this plate certainly proves my point. Could use a light cleaning to get rid of the heavy tarnish ring and some light debris on the surface.Shipping and insurance costs will be added to the price and must be paid for by the buyer.
