Active from about the turn of the century (he won gold and silver medals for his photography in 1905) until the 1930s, Massot billed himself as an "Art Photographer", but he ran a commercial studio in Brussels, Belgium. He had an article on his work in L'Art Photographique of 1923. He was known for his art portraits and his dance pictures, which have an art nouveau feel to them. He often used color carbon paper.
