Gentlemen, including members of the military, assemble at balloon air shows or training session. Balloon in foreground and in second photograph are similar to WWI Reconnaissance balloons. In the second photograph members of the group hold up pennants saying, " First Aerial Derby Around the World, 1919-1920" and "Omaha" is written in pencil on verso. This notation may be a reference to Fort Omaha. From 1905 to 1918, the US Army Signal Corps used Fort Omaha to train troops for its aerial surveillance program
