St. Sebaldus Church is a medieval church in Nuremberg, Germany. The final resting place of Nuremberg's patron saint, St. Sebaldus, is an extraordinarily beautiful shrine created by the Nuremberg sculptor and coppersmith Peter Vischer. Construction of the late Romanesque, double-choired pillar basilica began in Nuremberg in 1230-40 on the foundations of an earlier church dedicated to St. Peter. The most significant work of art in St. Sebaldus Church is the saint's tomb. Along with Frauenkirche and St. Lorenz, it is one of the most important churches of the city, and also one of the oldest.
