Titled in pencil by the photographer on the verso in pencil. Francois Gonzales, a friend of the Misonne family and a Belgium photography dealer, has certified on the verso in pencil that this original Fresson print was made by Misonne in 1914, rather than the 1942 date that is cited in the Musee de Photographie a Charleroi book.
See: Xavier Cannonne, Leonard Misonne En Passant..., p.46. Misonne apparently often dated the print based on when he made the print and not the negative.
A long biography on this very important photographer is available.
Provenance: family of artist; Francois Gonzales.
