Dussandier was a French photojournalist, who was active in the 1960s-80s, and was a close friend of Robert Doisneau, and his lighthearted images are in the same vein as his friend's humanist photographs.
He photographed the people and place of Brittany extensively, as well as made portraits of notable people, including fellow photographers Doisneau and Daniel Masclet, Edith Piaf and Marcel Cerdan, among others.
Dussandier's address in the 1970s and 80s was in Taverny, a northwest suburb of Paris. He was a member of the 30 x 40 Paris photo club. He showed his work at the 1964 Fédération Nationale des Sociétés Photographiques annual exhibition, among other venues.
Provenance: Roger Doloy to photographer Leon Herschtritt. Roger Doloy was the founder of the photo club "Les 30 × 40" in Paris in 1951.
