Born in 1885 L'Hote was an important and influential French artist who taught many important contemporary artists his style of cubism. He once said, "To use color well is as difficult as for a fish to pass from water to air or earth." He died in 1962.Willy Ronis was born in Paris in 1910. He became a full-time photographer in 1945.He joined Doisneau, Brassaï and others at the Rapho Agency.Ronis was the first French photographer to work for LIFE Magazine, and Edward Steichen exhibited him at the Museum of Modern Art in 1953 in a show called Four French Photographers. He was also part of the Family of Man exhibit.Ronis passed away on September 12, 2009.
