Annotated 'Vogue fashion', dated and numbered '25' in the negative in the margin. Photographer's credit stamp, mount verso. This image was used as the May 1, 1927 Vogue magazine cover and inside on p.59. This is possibly the print used for the inside illustration. Morehouse was Mrs. E. E. Cummings. She was modeling the dress in Conde Nast's New York City apartment. This image has gone for as much as $87,500 (Sotheby's 175 Masterworks to Celebrate 175 Years of Photography, lot 3, Dec. 11, 2014).
