Photographer's name and date "Sept. 1866" written in pencil on verso. Wenderoth was a Philadelphia photographer. This "still life" incorporates the instruments of his craft (note the camera lens and glassware for preparing chemicals) as well as an open book, a pipe, a formidable sculpture of a warrior knight, and finally the fruits of his craft, a framed portrait, which the small marble bust complements.
