About This Image

Written in pencil and ink on verso of image, "C M Sprig (?), August 4th, 1859, L Herbert Charles (?) Sprig to I B." Sweet ruby ambro of a little sister and brother posing for their portrait. With very large eyes and their chins tucked under, they shyly look up at the photographer. The girl wears a locket--possibly photographic--around her neck and holds a hat in one hand while the other lies tenderly on the back of the chair and her brother's shoulder. The boy looks like he'd rather be somewhere else. He wears a shirt with large buttons and a frilly collar. A small loop of string is tied at the top of metal frame.

Most U.S. domestic Fed Ex ground shipping (Media Mail for books) is free of charge except for larger and heavier items, or unless the buyer wants express shipping (email us your requests for the latter). International shipping and insurance costs will be added to the price and must be paid for by the buyer. Pennsylvania buyers must pay appropriate local sales tax. International clients are responsible for their local customs duties and taxes, which will be charged by Fed Ex, which will contact the client prior to delivery.
