This appears to be an ambrotype, but it is possible it is actually a dag. Some of the French pieces are difficult to tell in the frame. It has a modern seal and we have not had it out. An silvery tarnish ring extends all around as you can see from the scan. A couple of scratches, including one by her arm near the chair and one light one by her head. She wears pearls or rounded coral beads around her neck and wrist. The frilly dress is great.
