Contemporary Works/Vintage Works will feature "The Female Gaze: Women Photographers" at its booth at this year's AIPAD show, as well as a second section on "Views of Women: The Photographic Image". The gallery is located in Booth D5.
Such female master photographers as Julia M. Cameron, Barbara Morgan, Lisa Holden, Paula Chamlee, Ilse Bing, Betty Hahn, Helen Levitt, Imogen Cunningham, Sheila Metzner, Laure Albin-Guillot, Dorothy Norman, Tina Barney, Marsha Burns, Consuelo Kanaga, Germaine Krull, Edith Gerin, Claudia Kunin, Marcia Lippman, among others, will be exhibited. Portfolios by Ruth Bernhard and Olivia Parker will also be available.
Irving Penn: Girl in Bed (Jean Patchett), New York. Platinum-palladium print, 21 x 15-1/2 in. (533 x 394 mm), 1949/1970, flush-mounted on aluminum.
In addition, classic images of women will be featured by top photographers, including Irving Penn, Man Ray, André Kertész, George Seeley, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Arthur Tress, Baron Adolf De Meyer, Robert Doisneau, Ken Kitano, Thomas Shillea, Stanko Abadzic, Jacques-Henri Lartigue, Marcel Marien, W. Eugene Smith, Jack Welpott, Edward Weston, and others.
Artists Thomas Shillea and Paula Chamlee will also be available at the booth to sign copies of their books.
