Carl Mautz Vintage Photography has put up a new Special Exhibit on I Photo Central on Gayle Goodrich's Nudes at: http://www.iphotocentral.com/showcase/showcase_view.php/108/12/0 .

Born in Los Angeles, Gayle Goodrich's freelance photography career began in 1987. Her first clientele were female fitness instructors and dancers at the gym. While living in Boston in the early 90's, she developed a widely popular boudoir portrait business. Her background includes production stills for feature films, personal portraits and fine art, commercial, editorial and product photography. A Pacific Palisades, CA resident, Gayle is most well known for her original black and white female art. Her portraits of women have been featured nationally three times: twice in "Woman's Own" magazine, and on NBC's "The Other Half" with Dick Clark and Danny Bonaduce. It is her nudes that are featured here.

Contemporary Works/Vintage Works, Ltd. has put up two new Special Exhibits, along with extensive essays relating to the exhibits. The first is Marcel Mariën: Ne faites pas attention à la photographie", or "Don't pay attention to the photography". Mariën, a Belgium surrealist, was a disciple and long-time friend of Rene Magritte, and also knew Breton, Eluard, Picasso and Hugnet, among many others. In 1937 he started to make collages and some photos in the surrealist tradition. In December 1937 he participated in the important group exhibition 'Surrealist Objects and poems' in the London Gallery.

From 1980 until his death in Brussels in 1993, he never stopped taking photographs. During the last years of his life, he was also a very prolific publisher. Among his many books were two publications on his photographs. In 1984 he published “Le sentiment photographique” and in 1985 “La femme entrouverte”. The English edition 'Woman Ajar' was seized by the customs at the border and the books were destroyed. Most of his images Most of his images, largely surrealistic female nude studies, were only issued in editions of five prints, although some of the editions were never completed. All of his photographs are quite rare and have only occasionally come on the market. This collection is an extraordinary opportunity to view a broad selection of his work.

The second Special Exhibit that Contemporary / Vintage Works has just put up on I Photo Central is entitled: " Two Italian Master Photographers: Gianni Berengo Gardin and Mario Giacomelli". You can find this exhibition at: http://www.iphotocentral.com/showcase/showcase_view.php/107/1/1 .

These are two of Italy's most important and influential photographers of the second half of the 20th century. Their work is largely graphic and earthy views of every-day Italian life.

Contemporary Works / Vintage Works, Ltd. has also dramatically added and updated the Special Exhibition, "Contemporary Photography of Lisa Holden: Victorian Landscapes and New Technology. This exhibition can be found at: http://www.iphotocentral.com/showcase/showcase_view.php/81/1/1 .

Holden's work will be featured by the company at Photo LA, including three of her unique painted pieces.
